wild beach vegetation

almost all the southern shore of Sanibel Island is developed with condos and vacation properties. But the development is set back by about a hundred feet from the high tide mark which leaves a buffer of beach vegetation. In this 1,000 ft. stretch of beach, one can see the only example of natural vegetation from sea to forest on this part of the island. (it’s actually part of the Ding Darling national wildlife refuge)
