From midsummer to late fall, stickseed is the nemesis of all furry and/or clothed creatures. The worst of the burs, it was thought to be almost impossible to remove once lodged in fabric. I’ve thrown away fleece vests rather than spend hours picking the 1000s of little Hackelia nutlets out.
